Michael Lohberg

Coach Lohberg is a 6-time Olympic Coach. He is certified by the ASCA as a Level 5 coach, the highest level attainable and one held by only the top 2 to 5 per cent of the swimming coaches in the USA at any given time. He has qualified swimmers for every Olympic Games from 1984 to 2008. Four of his swimmers participated in the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens. In 2008 Michael had 8 swimmers compete at the Beijing Olympics, including Dara Torres. Among others, Michael coached world class swimmers like Fernando Scherer (ranked # 1 in 1998), Anne Poleska (Olympic bronze medal in 2004), Vlad Polyakov (World Champion 2006), Arlene Semeco (South-American and Pan American Champion), Leila Vaziri (World Champion and World Record holder 2007), and Dara Torres (12-time Olympic medalist, including 4 in 2008).

Kathleen Klein Prindle

Assistant Coach, National Team, Coral Springs Aquatic Complex Program

Kathleen joined CSSC in November of 2006. A former competitive swimmer (sprinter) and a 1993 graduate of Penn State University, she has over nineteen years of teaching and coaching experience. Kathleen is currently an ASCA Level 2 coach, working towards her advanced Levels 3 & 4.

Dave Cowmeadow

Senior II Coach

Dave Cowmeadow Senior II Coach David Cowmeadow is in his sixth year as a coach with the Coral Springs Swim Club. As a youngster, Dave was a member of four consecutive District High School Championship swimming teams at Fort Lauderdale High School. During his tenure as captain, his high school swim team won 25 meets while losing only 1.

Nicole Bronson

Age Group Coach

Nicole Bronson is one of the newest additions to our Coral Springs Swim Club. Originally from Jacksonville, Florida, Nicole lived with her parents Kenny and Cathy Bronson and two older brothers. She is currently finishing her Bachelor's of Science at Florida Atlantic University where she will be majoring in Exercise Science and Health Promotion. Nicole is currently swimming with the Masters Program and has been apart of the Aquatic Program for three years now as a lifeguard, CPR Instructor and Swim Instructor.

 
Bruno Darzi

Head Age Group Coach, Coral Springs Aquatic Complex Program

Coach Bruno came to us from Brazil with an impressive list of accolades. A former national level swimmer himself, he coached many age group and senior swimmers in Brazil, achieving outstanding results. He has extensive knowledge of training science, lactate testing and sophisticated stroke technique.  Since taking over the head age group position at the Aquatic Complex in January 2004, he has had several swimmers produce multiple National Top-16 times.  His swimmers have also broken CSSC and FGC records in each year. Coach Bruno is an ASCA Level 4 certified coach.

Chris "Action" Jackson

Senior Group Coach

Chris Jackson Chris was a top swimmer with CSSC for many years. He joined the CSSC coaching staff in March of 2001. In addition to his duties with the senior age group swimmers, Chris also coaches the really "senior" kids. running an extremely successful USMS, "Masters’ Swimming" Program here in Coral Springs. Chris works closely with Coach Lohberg to produce our large numbers of Junior Olympic finalists and Sectional qualifiers from the difficult upper age group levels.

 
Birgit "Biggi" Lohberg

SwimAmerica Program Director

Biggi Lohberg Coach Biggi is a former Olympic and international swimming competitor. She swam a final the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul; achieved a 6th place at the 1986 World Championships; in addition to being a multiple national champion and national record holder for Germany. Biggi is also an ASCA Level 4 coach, much to her surprise, "I'm a swimmer , not a coach!" Biggi runs the SwimAmerica Program in Coral Springs. Her program produces most of the kids who join to the swim team. SwimAmerica gives them a solid grounding in stroke technique. Biggi herself is one of Chris Jackson's Masters swimmers. In fact, she is a multiple Masters All-American for 2004 and 2005.

 
Josh Laban

Age Group Coach

Josh was born on the island of St. Croix, United States Virgin Islands. He has represented the U.S.V.I. in international swimming competitions from the age of 12 and holds several Virgin Islands national records.

He was a semi-finalist at the 2003 Pan American Games in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, and participated in the Olympic Games in 2004 (Athens). In 2007 he moved to South Florida, trained with CSSC and qualified for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. Josh was honored with the role as flag bearer for the U.S. Virgin Islands during the opening ceremonies of the Beijing Games.
